What is the difference between a spray tan booth at a retailer vs. a customized spray tan?

Will my spray tan cover my existing tan lines?
Excellent question. Existing tan lines from the sun can be tricky since the lines of contrast can be very apparent. We do our best to even out the lines for an all over, smooth tan, but please keep in mind, the stronger the contrast of lines, the harder it is to even out and it is not guaranteed.
Is the tanning solution toxic?
We believe in a healthy Glow on the outside, and on the inside too. The active ingredient in all of our self tanning products is dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA has been used in cosmetic preparations for almost 30 years and was listed with the FDA in 1973. It is declared safe and suitable for use in cosmetics and is used to color the skin. DHA is derived from glycerin (vegetable origin) which is a commonly used cosmetic and food ingredient. DHA is not absorbed into the body and poses no possibility of toxicity.
Can you spray someone with eczema or dermatitis?
It is safe to spray tan with these skin conditions as long as it is not in an active ‘flare up’ stage. A 24 hour patch test is required to make sure the tanning solution agrees with your skin.
Please inform your Aesthetician if such conditions exist so we can take care of you best.
Is there SPF in spray tanning?
There is no SPF in any spray tanning solution on the market. Spray tanning is meant to tint the outermost layer of the skin, the epidermis, and naturally shed, resulting in your spray tan lasting 5-7 days. Because there is no SPF in the solutions we strongly advise anyone receiving a spray tan to use a moisturizer with SPF for protection from UVA/UVB sun rays.
How long will my tan last?
Your Glow should last 5-7 days on average. The amount of physical activity, after care, and proper preparation are all factors of how many days one can expect their tan to last. A high quality tan extender can drastically add to the duration of your tan. If you are interested in purchasing a tan extender please let your Aesthetician know.
Will I turn orange?
Our unique blend of organic ingredients is designed for all skin tones – Light-Medium-Dark – so turning orange is a thing of the past! But please note, you will want to make sure to follow Pre-Glow and Post-Glow instructions, as well as remove any previous self-tanners with an exfoliant, as mixing levels of DHA can result in an undesired color.
